At this time, direct billing is not available, and , receipts will be provided and clients are responsible for submitting receipts to their provider if coverage applies.
Counselling focuses on emotional wellbeing, mental health, and processing life experiences. It may involve working through anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, or past experiences while developing coping strategies and self-awareness.
Coaching is more future-focused and goal-oriented. Coaching supports personal growth, clarity, and life direction. Coaching sessions may also include holistic practices such as mindfulness and light touch work to help relax and connect mind and body while releasing stress and shift mindset patterns.
Some clients choose counselling, coaching, or a combination depending on their goals.

I am a Counselling Therapist: ACTA membership 3238, Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling (MPCC – Provisional) member of the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA)- 4578.
My work is grounded in competency-based training, with a Diploma in Applied psychology and professional counselling, specializing in Professional Counselling.
As a provisional practitioner, I work under professional supervision. This means I have access to ongoing consultation and guidance from experienced supervisors, ensuring that clients receive ethical, thoughtful, and well-supported care.
In addition to counselling training, I also bring over 15 years of experience in coaching, education, and holistic wellbeing.
Note on Alberta regulation
Alberta is in the process of implementing regulation for counselling professionals. Once the regulation begins, I will be registered as a Counselling Therapist under Alberta’s framework, ensuring all services meet provincial standards.
My approach is integrative and person-centred, drawing from a variety of therapeutic and holistic practices including:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Somatic and nervous system regulation approaches
Mindfulness and grounding techniques
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques / tapping)
Therapeutic play techniques (trained through RMPTI)
Trauma-informed training, including polyvagal theory
Sound therapy and holistic wellness approaches
These methods allow sessions to be adapted to each client’s unique needs.
Yes. Counselling sessions are confidential, meaning your personal information and what is discussed in sessions is kept private.
However, there are a few legal and ethical limits to confidentiality, including:
• If there is risk of serious harm to yourself or someone else
• If there is suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable person
• If records are subpoenaed by a court of law
• If consultation with a professional supervisor is needed (information is shared without identifying details whenever possible)
These guidelines help ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients and others.
The number of sessions varies depending on your needs and goals.
The first session is typically an intake session, where we gather background information, discuss your concerns, and begin identifying goals. From there, we may create a plan for ongoing support.
Some clients attend short-term counselling for a specific issue, while others prefer ongoing sessions or occasional check-ins to support their wellbeing over time.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes. Sessions are available online for clients across Canada and the UK- Coaching only, as well as in-person in Innisfail and Red Deer.
What ages do you work with?
I work with youth 8+ teens, adults, and families.
What issues do you commonly support?
Common areas include anxiety, stress, life transitions, emotional regulation, mindfulness reconnection, and personal growth.
At Mount Willow, counselling and coaching are about creating a safe, supportive space where you can slow down, be heard, and work through life’s challenges at your own pace.
There are times, however, when a different level of support may be needed. Mount Willow is not a crisis or emergency service and does not provide:
Crisis or emergency intervention
Support for immediate risk of suicide or self-harm
Emergency mental health or psychiatric care
Addiction treatment or detox support
Care where there is an immediate risk of harm to yourself or someone else
If you are in immediate danger, experiencing a crisis, or feel you may not be able to keep yourself safe, please reach out to 911, your local emergency department, or an appropriate crisis service.
Reaching out for additional support is not a failure — sometimes the most caring step is getting the right help for what you are experiencing.
Counselling and coaching can be part of your wider journey of wellbeing, personal growth, and positive change, alongside other professional supports when needed.
